Student Reflection with Natalie Lira

Date:
February 5, 2021
Time:
12 p.m. to 1 p.m. PST
Place:
Zoom

Please join us for a reflection session after Dr. Natalie Lira's Campus Forum. At this reflection session, student participants will work with Dr. Natalie Lira to bring clarity and creativity to our medical reparations discussion. By amplifying and centering the perspectives of BIPOC and disabled students, the group will think through several questions:

  • What do we expect reparations to do?
  • Can we push our vision of what reparations consist of beyond a single monetary payment? What more should we ask for?
  • Can/should reparations work toward addressing the generational harm caused by histories of medical abuse (ex: medical mistrust)?
  • How can a move for reparations be involved in preventing future instances of sterilization abuse?
